Orange County School Board members Bette Winter, Carol Couch, Sherrie Page and Jim Hopkins (not pictured) attended the Legislative Advocacy Conference provided by the Virginia School Board Association on Sept 28, 2017 in Charlottesville, VA. Governor Terry McAuliffe was awarded the Virginia Legislative Award of Excellence by the Virginia School Board Association for his strong support of education during his 4 years as Governor of Virginia. According to the Governor, there are 68,000 cyber job openings In Virginia with a starting salary of $88,000 a year. In order to receive the needed computer credentials, less than a year of study after high school is required. Orange County School Board members proudly told Governor McAuliffe about the Hornet Tech Center at OCHS and the many computer credentials that are obtained by our students.
