On Thursday, November 16, the Orange County High School Gold Rush Library sponsored a workshop for art students hosted by Virginia based artist Laura Lee Gulledge.  Ms. Yurasits’ students learned about Gulledge’s creative process and style of designing graphic novels.  Based out of Charlottesville, Gulledge has published several graphic novels, one of which has recently been adapted into a play.  Inspired by her new book, Art I and Art II students first warmed up with an ambidextrous drawing activity.  They then experimented with strings dipped in india ink and had to find and draw objects in the abstract patterns.  It was a wonderful opportunity to explore new techniques through first hand experiences.
