Along with all of the students at Orange Elementary School celebrating the Hour of Code using www.code.org, our Coding Crew Competition commenced for grades 1-5!  All students spent at least 1 hour exploring computer coding while others challenged themselves even more in attempts to become a member of our Coding Crew.

Some of the Orange Elementary Google Ninjas and Coding Crew members wrote computer programs using SenseHat and the Raspberry Pi mini-computer to send messages similar to those that will be sent to the International Space Station during a project called the Astro Pi Challenge.

Orange Elementary Kindergarten students, with the help of experienced fifth grade students, start learning about computer programming by looking for the “bugs” in the marble run.  They then went to the computer to work on finding “bugs” in the computer programs on code.org.
