Orange County High School teacher Darron Breeden finished in third place in the annual Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest held at Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York on July 4th.

Breeden, a teacher in the Hornet Technologies program, consumed 43 hot dogs in 10 minutes. Legendary champion Joey Chestnut won the competition by eating an all time record of 74 Nathan’s hot dogs.

This was Breeden’s second time competing in this legendary New York event. In 2017, he consumed 38 and one half hot dogs. The 43 dogs he ate this year was a significant improvement and bodes well for the future. Congratulations Darron!!!
