On Saturday, Oct. 6, the Orange County High School Marching Band attended two competitions and did very well at both. The first competition was at Goochland High School where the band won first place in class AA with one of only three superior ratings earned that day. Caption awards were also received for 1st place music and 1st place marching. The color guard and percussion both won their class and posted the highest scores at the event for each caption.

The evening competition was at Spotsylvania High School, where the band had to compete up a class in AAA. The band was still able to earn awards for 2nd place music with a score of 91 out of 100. The drumline won their class with a score of 92, as well as earning the trophy for best percussion overall at the competition. The band came in 3rd place in class AAA, two tenths of a point behind Mountain View High School.
