On display at Locust Grove Primary School is an interesting piece of art made from toilet paper tubes in the front lobby by the frames. This is the “Going Green” project done by all the second graders! Recycling/Repurposing to help save the planet!

The Lake of the Woods Visual Arts Council (LOWVAC) gave each school in our district a canvas that is 2 feet by 3 feet with the challenge to create something on it! The finished 9 canvases will be featured and sold at the LOWVAC art show on Sept. 28 and 29 at the Lake of the Woods Sweetbriar Park Community Center along with work by professional artists. This is our entry to that show. Money from this show helps support our art programs. Last year, LOWVAC contributed $800 to our program! The big canvas holds the painted tubes of 124 artists….the small one brings the total to 167 artists who contributed!
