• The County has an option on a 159 acre tract of land on Rt. 601 near the Wilderness Library. View Site Pictures

• We are currently exercising due diligence to determine the feasibility of using the site for the school.

Project Scope:

• 1200 Student Middle School

• Approximately 160,000 square ft.

• Approximately 70 acre site to accommodate the middle school and several Parks and Recreation amenities.

• Will be served by public water and sewer.

• Hard Cost (bricks and mortar) could range from $33M to $39M.

• Total Project Costs (including furniture, technology, design, testing, contingencies etc.) could range from $41m to $51M

Middle School Site Amenities:

• 1 - playfield (football/soccer)

• 1 - baseball field

• 1 - softball filed

• 1 bus loop for 20 buses

• 150 parking spaces

What will happen to the current Locust Grove Middle School Building?

• The current elementary school building will serve students in grades K-2

• The current Locust Grove Middle School Building will serve students in grades 3-5 (This arrangement is similar to the configuration we are currently using at Unionville and Lightfoot Elementary Schools.)
