Darrell
Hatfield is originally from the southern West Virginia town
of Fanrock. He graduated from Concord College in 1987 with a
degree in Mathematics and Computer Science and began
teaching Math and Computer Science at Orange County High
School in 1988. In 2005 he received his Masters degree from
Virginia Tech in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis
in Instructional Technology and began working in the
technology field as Technology Coordinator at Orange County
High School. In 2007 Darrell began his current position as
Director of Technology.
Darrell’s responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of
the technology department and the technology department
staff. This includes technology support, technology
training, network design and maintenance, phone support and
maintenance, and managing district created applications. |

Gary
Mittler

Gary
Mittler is originally from New York City. He graduated from
SUNY at Stony Brook in 1976. After working for an
educational publishing company for four years, Gary then
received a Masters degree in Reading from the University
Virginia in 1981. He has worked in Orange County Schools
since 1982 serving as a classroom teacher, librarian, and an
information technology specialist.
Gary’s
responsibilities include managing the school systems’ web
site, working with SharePoint services to manage the system
intranet, tech support at Orange Elementary School, creating
and managing custom database applications relating to
student data, and developing Workflow applications to manage
administrative and record keeping tasks. |

Henry Winger

Henry
Winger is originally from Oil City, Pennsylvania. He
graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in
1979. In 1981, Henry accepted a teaching position in
Stafford County, where he taught 6th grade at
A.G. Wright. He then accepted a teaching position at
Gordon-Barbour where he taught 5th and 6th
grade Math and Science for 18 years before moving on to his
current position in the technology department. Henry coached
Cross Country and Track for 17 years, first at North
Stafford High School and then at OCHS.
Henry is
responsible for PHMS and GBE tech support, district phone
maintenance and support, K-2 Microsoft Access grade book
creation and maintenance, and Just 5 Clicks copier
troubleshooting. This position also serves as backup for all
Share point based Intranet applications; Microsoft Access
based applications, and backup Webmaster.

Mark Sargent

Mark Sargent is
originally from West Springfield Massachusetts. He entered
the USMC in 1987, attaining the rank of SSgt and completing
his B.S. in Criminal Justice before separating and
relocating to Fluvanna County in 1998. Upon moving to VA he
was first employed at Sperry Marine as a Network Systems
Integrator, and then moved onto a local consulting company
as a Senior Support Engineer.
Mark joined the OCPS technology
staff in September of 2007 and is responsible for a wide
array of network communications equipment as well as direct
desktop support of Orange County High School.

Donald Stafford

Donald Stafford
is originally from Orange County Virginia. He graduated from
Orange County High School in 2008. Donald went through the
Hornet Tech program at the high school and graduated with
his A+ and Net+ certifications. He started working as tech
support for OCPS in 2010.
Donald is
responsible for tech support at Locust Grove MS, Locust
Grove Elementary, Lightfoot Elementary, and Unionville
Elementary. |

The
Technology Help Desk
is the place for teachers and staff to go to enter
tickets for technology-related repairs or problems.
The
Technology
Resources site offers a wide range of resources for
teachers and staff.
During the 2007-08 and
2008-09 school years, the ITRTs assembled a
Sharepoint web site featuring a wide variety of
resources in instructional technology.
