The SCA (Student Council Association) is happy to say that we collected about 900 items for our canned food drive. Though we didn't reach our goal of 1,500, the Wilderness Food Pantry was happy to take the food that we collected and delivered.
We are having four new spirit days. On Feb. 10 we had wacky hair day, that fortunately was approved by the school administration. On Feb. 24 we will have hat day. On Mar. 10 we will be having teacher/student switch day where the students dress as teachers and vice-versa, and sometimes the teacher will let the student teach the teacher. On March 24 we will be having backwards day. On that day people wear their clothes backwards.
The SCA has decided to have the fourth through fifth grade representatives tutor if they would like to. We had many people responding to this. Now some SCA members are tutoring after school on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Mr. Finger, our music teacher, is getting a generous gift from the S.C.A treasury. The SCA voted to spend $16 for materials to make him some recorder stands. A group of SCA members are staying after school to make this gift.
The SCA has voted to have a roller skating #2! Mr. Poole is trying to make a reservation at Dominion Skating Rink.
Mrs. Morton and Mr. Bean have very nicely donated two soccer goals to the playground. They are currently being used by many students at recess.
At a recent SCA meeting the SCA picked two committees. These committees will be making the courtyard and school grounds more beautiful and clean.
