Teacher's Desk

Library Policy

Reservations - Teachers may reserve library time for classes by completing a planning form and meeting with the librarians at least one week in advance
of the visit. This allows librarians to prepare materials and lessons corresponding to the teacher's lesson objectives.

Students - Students must obtain a pass from their teacher to visit the library during class time. It is not always possible to accommodate individual students if classes are using the library.
A call from the teacher to the library can confirm if space is available.

AV Materials - TV's, VCR's, overhead projectors, and assorted AV equipment is available for loan. Many of these items are assigned to classrooms or departments and must be shared between teachers, because we do not have enough materials to supply every teacher. If a special resource or item is needed, please fill out a request-for-purchase or reserve item in advance.

Video - The video library is selected to support the learning objectives and the SOL's for the high school curriculum. We have a large selection of educational videos that may be checked out by the teacher for classroom use. Video copyright protection applies to all use of videos in the classroom. Requests for recording TV programs can
also be made in the library.
