Hiring Policies & Procedures


  1. All interested candidates must complete an online application.
    • Candidates are required to submit three references along with their application.
    • Candidates are required to answer questions regarding criminal convictions and or findings of child abuse or neglect.
       
  2. If a candidate is selected, they will be contacted for an interview.
     
  3. If a candidate is recommended for employment following their interview, they are then processed through the Human Resources Office. This process includes:
    • Additional paperwork including submitting to fingerprinting that is electronically submitted to the Virginia State Police and FBI.
    • Completing a Child Protective Services (CPS) Form that is submitted to CPS for processing.
    • References are verified.
       
  4. Training.
    • Full-time employees receive training within their respective department or school.
    • Substitute teachers and/or instructional assistants receive training from the Human Resource Department, Department of Student Services, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, and the Nurse Manager.
